Pricing Breakdown
The following is an outline of typical pricing for digital reproductions. There are 4 levels of scanning available from which our clients can select an appropriate level based upon the size of the original artwork, the artist’s aesthetic desires and expectations with respect to the rendering of the digital reproduction, the intended use of the digital capture i.e. internet, digital display or fine art print and the size of the required final reproduction in print.
Level One Scans are $25 each. The maximum size of artwork for these scans is 16” x 20”. The scans are suitable for use on the internet, email, digital display or prints up to 12” x 18”. These scans are evenly lit and uniformly sharp.
Level Two scans are $50 each. These scans are perfect for larger scale work. They have a medium recorded resolution of approximately 50 megapixels (6,000 x 8,000 px) for artwork of any size. The detail in these scans is extremely sharp, crisp and clear. These scans can be printed up to 24” x 36” and larger.
Level Three scans are $85 each and include one proof. These are superb, beautifully life-like, extremely sharp, high precision, contactless scans of well over 100 megapixels (13,000 px x 8,000 px) in size. They are extraordinarily sharp and pick up every nuance of fine detail for the creation of fine prints up to 44” x 60” and larger.
Level Four scans are $225 each. These are the ultimate in detailed captures at well over 400 megapixels (23,296 x 17,472 px) for mural sized prints. The high colour accuracy and resolution make this an obvious choice for digital archiving and art preservation.
Proofing: The process of creating a digital reproduction from artwork is iterative. Proofing is a critical part of the process of creating an accurate digital reproduction because authenticity is a priority when we use imaging to preserve an invaluable piece of artwork. But until a proof print has been made we only have a digital representation of the image via a collection of pixels on our monitors. While our monitors are high-end and perfectly profiled, no digital display can do more than simulate an image.
For each proof either a portion of the artwork is printed or the entire image is printed at a reduced size. Once a proof is made on the paper which was selected by the artist for the final reproduction, then we can accurately judge just how closely matched the digital capture is to the original artwork. The proof is compared against the original artwork under industry standard viewing conditions and adjustments are made, if required. On occasion only one proof is required to verify the accuracy of the capture. For other work additional proofs and modifications may be required to achieve utmost accuracy. Each proof which includes some general colour adjustment is $25.

Printing Prices
We make every effort to use sheets versus rolls whenever possible and where available. Protective packaging with acid free interleaves are included with all prints. We print up to 44″ x 55 feet and more or any size below. Please call or email to inquire about fine prints larger than 24″ x 36″
Artwork Scanning Prices
It is always advisable to meet with us to review the specifics of your art and your requirements for its reproduction. From this we can provide a precise quote. Nevertheless, as an example, an oil painting at a size of 24” x 36” can be captured and printed for a digital reproduction on the highest quality fine art paper at the same size for as little as $110 plus HST.
